Day 18 : Pranayama (Breathing)
"The flower of hatha yoga."
"The bridge between the body and the mind."
.
🔷Pranayama (breathing techniques) : Yogic breathing makes the lungs strong.
*If you know a yogic breathing technique you’d like to share, please post a picture or video!! I’m going to briefly share about breathing in general that is applicable to all people!!
.
When we hear about the Coronavirus we can feel anxiety, but through belly breathing(see below), we can make big relaxation through our whole Bodymind.
It purifies the Bodymind. It makes heat in the body. The negative thoughts and worries fly out with each exhale.
.
🔹Belly Breathing : [Can be practice anytime by anyone.]
The technique is simple, whether you are sitting, standing, lying down or upside down 😋 you can relax your abdomen and breath comfortably. Sometimes the inhale with be longer and sometimes the exhale. Sometimes the inhale will be more comfortable and sometimes the exhale. Just watch, without effort. The more you can relax, the better it will go. The better it goes, the more you will relax 😉
Belly breathing, also known as deep breathing, is not technically a yogic breathing technique, but it is a great tool for making deep relaxation in the body and mind. Especially when you feel stressed or in any emotional state you don’t want to stay in, just watch your deep breaths in and out. The great thing about mind is that every second it can really only focus on one thing (Even if you feel like you are a great multitasker. Multitasking means that you can switch between thought tracks efficiently... each thought is still coming in one at a time). So when you focus on your breath, more and more, the thoughts that are not about breath will fall away more and more. This is when we begin to see our thoughts (identify kinds of thoughts). This is watching. I can watch myself watching my breath. This watching is the essence of meditation. It is the essence of yoga :)(We will talk about this tomorrow!! The last day!!)
