DAY 13: Locust "COVID-19 Yoga Together Challenge"
#covid19yogatogether
.
DAY 13 :
Locust pose (Salabhasana)
.
Locust pose is a great way to strengthen your lower back (as long as you lift your legs up only as much as you feel no pain when you are doing it!)
.
Yoga asana is said to be the first concrete step in the abolition of human modalities[M.Eliade]
(Say what??) This means that by taking on the forms of other animals and things (a locust?!!) we can go beyond the limitation of being human, ie mind!! This is going towards the ultimate of yoga! 😄
.
Start by lying on your stomach. Place your hands under your thighs (palms up) so that your elbows are straight. Place your forehead down. Exhale, then inhale as you lift your legs up off the ground as much as feels comfortable. Springing your legs up like a locust! 🦗
